ABOUT PRE & POST NATAL PILATES
During these times we have had to amend our pre and post natal offering. Anyone pre or post-natal is welcome to attend and of our Pilates Equipped classes which are perfectly suited to work with and post bump! 1:1s are also suitable and all our teachers are pre and post natal qualified. We also have launched some online pre and post natal classes over on MoveBetter.TV our online platform. Rent an online pregnancy class here for £4.99. DURING YOUR PREGNANCY
Engage with Each Stage
As you move through the different stages of pregnancy it’s important that you continue moving safely. Pilates can help you retain muscle tone and gently build strength that will help relieve the pressure put on your posture, limit aches and pains and support your bump as it grows.
It can also strengthen your pelvic floor that will promote recovery after birth. As well as the physical perks, Pilates can act as a mental time-out, offering meditative benefits as you as you learn to concentrate on breathing and moving with mindful control. Suitable Pre-Natal / Pregnancy Classes: 1:1 Sessions A 1:1 session on the equipment is a great, supportive place to start at Soul and required before joining our Pilates Equipped classes and also ideal if you're suffering from pain during pregnancy. Available at our City Centre and Bishopston studios. Pilates Equipped: Fundamentals • Our Pilates Equipped class are a firm favourite among our pregnancy clients (once you've completed a 1:1 session & are 12+ weeks). Available at our City Centre studio. Pilates Matwork: Pre-Natal o Our specialist Pilates Matwork classes are a great way to move and connect with our pregnant clients and are suitable for 12+ weeks. Available at our Bishopston studio (coming soon). Pilates Reformer: Pre-Natal o The Pilates Reformer is a lovely way to support and strengthen during pregnancy and is suitable 12+ weeks. Bringing new life into the world is momentous. And whilst your new baby will undoubtedly require bundles of your time, attention and love, we recognise that you will also need the same. It’s so important that you allow yourself the time and space to rehabilitate properly, to regain your strength steadily and safely.
We’re here to support you on your postpartum journey and believe recovery starts from within. We know it can be tempting to focus on getting back into your favourite pair of jeans, but we focus first on re-forming the foundations that will help you feel comfortable and confident in the new version of yourself. Investing time during this period will also help to avoid issues in later life.
